FLOOD OF MEMORIES
The worst flood in our nation's history was , "the great Ohio River flood" of 1937.
Two sisters, now in their mid eighties, share their memories of that life changing experience.

You know how you turn on WGN to watch a cub game, and you see the same guy, sitting in the same seat, in the front row, wearing a pink hat and a green shirt all the time? Well...that's, "THE PINK HAT GUY of Wrigley Field."

WORLD WAR 1 POSTERS

Posters helped mobilize the nation for World War I. They called for sacrifice and participation. Citizens were asked to contribute time and money, to produce products, to conserve resources, and to contribute to the war effort in personal ways.

WORLD WAR II POSTERS - Guns, tanks, and bombs were the principle weapons of World War II. But there were other forms of warfare as well. Poster Art waged a constant battle for the hearts and minds of the American citizenry just as surely as military weapons engaged the enemy.
MICHIGAN CITY, INDIANA

MICHIGAN CITY, INDIANA Many years ago, my family owned a summer cottage on the shores of the Indiana Dunes. We swam in the lake, played catch on the beach, and caught fish off the pier.
It's completely sickening that Comiskey Park was brought down.
Born in 2000, I can only dream if they could have kept this beautiful ball park as it is. Why must they have torn down someghing that never had to be. Curse you jerry. You have stripped too much from this team. A team that I love and now have grown to hate. This place could have been like wrigley, which I even admit i love going to.
It smelled like piss and stale beer like a ballpark should.
Before it was torn down, I'm glad I went to a number of games here in the 1970's and 1980's.
Ours together our little family with rank and position Geeses
Great vid! I really miss the little guy at my cottage comes to listen to my radio and sleep in the field, hope he visits next summer!
I have to admit...this brought a tear to my eye...
I know this migrashon
They were born to hold two citizenships : Canada and the United States.
Yeah, and you know what was there before their was a ballpark? A Garbage Dump! So when do we get to hear, "There Used to be a Garbage Dump Right Here."
Single file, Indian style,? Where the hell did that come from lol
8:40 I always call them Canadian geese. It feels more right to me
Good video!
2:23 is a cackling goose. And the next next shot is a Canada goose. They’re so adorable.
People love geese until they move into your neighborhood lol
It is across the street, a parking lot now. They have a home plate where the original was.
Really enjoyed this, thanks
Yayyyyy ⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️
Yes I love geese 😍😍😍 what was that song after your said geese split into families nevermind the video was still amazing 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😍
Love CG ❤
Cool video however I'm disappointed in fake news. The Canada goose it's not really a permanent resident nor anything with Canada besides being there. But I guess it's like all Canadians they fly South for the Winter. I heard Florida is nice also they stop in my property. In pennsylvania it's cool
When I told my anthropology teacher in the eighties the canada goose is from canada he laughed and he realized it's a north american bird just a name it's funny
I came here to educate myself on Canada 🦆 but fell in love with the editing!! Brilliant and very informative video 👍
Great use of Sinatra here. Kudos
This was great! Always wanted to know more about them!
I visited in 1983. I looked at LF and said "Shoeless Joe played right there."
I remember sitting in center field with Harry Carey and Bill Veeck. Veecks wooden leg hanging in the aisle. Drinking beer soaking up the sun and just enjoying life and the great game of baseball ⚾️ It'll never be the same man how I miss those days.
Yes, it's a shame.
The White Sox were so disappointing last season that I truly struggle to think about them without getting sick. Seriously shaken as I watched them swing at pitches 8 inches out of the box, base running that would make the San Diego Chicken blush and management that literally travelled through a time warp. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad if they weren’t picked to run away with the weakest division in the league. This clip made long for 80’s and 90’s CWS.
Luke Appling Lives!
Sinatra sang this about Ebbets Field. Talk about cultural appropriation!
Great video
Andy the Clown's daughter(Ruth) was ol Igor's gym teacher in grammar school in the early early '80s(like 80-82/83).
Fun memories, fun times. Thanks for the great moments in our lives.
This park should never have been torn down. They should have restored it AND left the neighborhood taverns/businesses around it intact. The blue-seated atrocity across the street may have come with all the “bells & whistles”, but it possessed NONE of the history, charm or mystique of it’s grand predecessor, the TRUE Comiskey Park. The old park took with it a great deal of the team’s hard earned character. I loved the White Sox, but it took me years to feel the same passion I held before they ‘86’d our beloved ballpark.
Awesome 👌..never forget seeing Kittle hit a roof shot one night 🌙 from the right field upper deck. The signs to my right showing where all time greats had hit home runs. A kid took money once to park our car and it took us hours to find it.
Well done, beautiful memories
I shed a tear when its came down. Many memories there...
disco demolition night....thanks for ending that music.....
I figured away to tell a male Canada Goose from a female Canada Goose. For starters; males are a little bigger and appears a tad heavier. Their black tail feathers a little bit more longer than the females tail feathers. Please correct me if I am wrong. Very entertaining and educational. I ❤ the music..
You forgot to mention the greater, is not a lesser and a cackles kinda named wrong seem how they mostly reside in Florida
Nice content
Nice and beautiful video. Thanks for sharing so wonderful film. Its awesome.
I love the pairing of this music with these Hopper paintings! Lovely! I don't think they reallly go with the mood of the paintings but they certainly go with the eare in which most of his best work was completed. Hopper was a crusty old SOB but his paintings were so profound. He was a great painter like Artie Shaw was a great band leader
I loved that ballpark and was lucky enough to travel and see a game in 1982 vs the A’s. They made a mistake and should of just refurbished it like the Cubs did. Can you imagine what a “gem” it would be if it was still here in 2022.
That was definitely a park that they should have kept for future Generations
Great video the old ballparks had way more charm and ambience.
Nice video!
Show off
Horrible music
Here from a Stanley episode !
Thanks for this video. I grew up at this park and learned to LOVE the game of baseball at the "Baseball Palace of the World". It was here that my father taught to me to always keep my on the game because you never know when a ball may come your way. I also found $80 next to one of the commodes under the center field scoreboard when I was 10 years old(I am 50 now). Saw what I believe to be a game I will never witness again(and one of the reasons I love the game of baseball) on July 1, 1990 when Andy Hawkins of the New York Yankees no hit the White Sox and lost 4-0. Saw Ozzie Guillen and Craig Grebeck hit back to back home runs off of Nolan Ryan. Great memories of a bygone era!!!
